2. House mice like to hide in clutter, so keep all storage areas clean and always store boxes off the floor.

3. You should regularly inspect your home for signs of an infestation, such as droppings, gnaw marks, and damaged food containers.

4. Seal all cracks and holes on the outside your home, including areas where utilities and pipes enter your home, using caulk, steel wool      or a combination of both. This will keep mice out.

5. Eliminate all potential moisture sites, including leaking pipes and clogged drains that provide the perfect breeding site for pests.

6. Keep attics, basements and crawl spaces well ventilated and dry.

7. Replace loose mortar and weather stripping around the basement foundation and windows.

8. Store firewood at least 20 feet away from the house and keep shrubbery trimmed and cut back from the house.
