The cellar spider is a spider that is originally found in the subtropics and can not survive in cold weather. This means it is commonly found in homes and cellars in order to survive. It has a habit of spinning its irregular webs in the ceiling of basements and living areas where it searches for prey. This spider feeds not only on insects but also other spiders.
